Swirly Cake

I made this as a "thank you" for two of my husband's longest-held tutoring students who had recently graduated from high school.  I wasn't sure what to do for them so I thought of Target.  Yes, the store.  I know these girls like Target so I thought of the store's designs and patterns for inspiration.  They were quite pleased with the cake I brought them.

Anchors Aweigh

This is a first birthday cake for a little boy.  The design matches the decorations used at the party.

Art Birthday

This was made for a budding artist who was turning 6.

Carousel Birthday

This was a very special cake for a very special girl who was turning 3.  This little girl was adopted from China about 9 months ago and this was the first birthday she was celebrating with her forever family.  The party took place at a real working carousel too!

One-Year-Old Birthday

I made this for a little boy who was visiting his grandma for a few weeks around his first birthday.  This was a special celebration for the family.

Butterfly Birthday

 I made this delightful flock (flutter? swarm? rabble? lek?) of butterflies for a girl who was turning 10 years old.  It included 36 cupcakes and a 6" cake.  The butterflies were made out of chocolate and vanilla wafers.

This was a cake for a little girl who was turning 3!

Black and White Wedding Cake

I made this cake for my brother's wedding.  He was marrying a South African beauty, so the theme of their wedding was black and white.  Both their first names and their last name begin with "P". The calla lilies are made from fondant.
