Air Force Cake

I made this cake for an Air Force re-enlistment ceremony.  The bottom layer of cake was red velvet and the top layer was vanilla cake with blue coloring in it.  The results were quite a hit!

Rat Cake

This is strange sounding, I know, but this cake totally made sense in context.  We were bidding farewell to one manager and welcoming another to a program at work that primarily does research on lab rats.  Everyone attending the party also worked in the lab, so this made sense.  Everyone was delighted by it and the cake was quite a hit.  The rat is a stuffed animal and the shavings are crushed up ice cream cones.

Nautical Cupcakes

I made these cupcakes this weekend for a nautical-themed baby shower.  I made a cake to accompany it but did not get a picture of it.  The toppings are all made of home-made marshmallow fondant and were hand-painted.

Angry Birds!

I made this cake and accompanying cupcakes for a little boy turning 5 years old.  He loved it!

I had a blast making all the silly faces on the pigs.

Butterfly Birthday

For the last three years now, I have made a special birthday cake for a young girl.  This year she turned 9 and she wanted a butterfly cake in hot pinks and oranges.  I used the party cake plate as inspiration for this design.  And as an added bonus, I turned the batter pink!  She didn't know it until she cut into the cake.  (Those are hot pink lady bugs on the cake.)
