Winter Wedding (and Groom's Cake)

I had the opportunity to make a winter wedding cake:

I had to use live roses because I couldn't make a red dark enough to be realistic. I was very pleased with how the cake turned out--I think the couple was too! Also, as a surprise for her new husband, the bride had me make a N.C. State-themed groom's cake (evidently a southern tradition):

Hello Kitty Birthday

I made the below cake for a little girl's 6th birthday. She wanted Hello Kitty doing karate, wearing a tiara. And that's what she got!

I also made some extra cupcakes to go with the cake so that there would be enough for everyone:

Veggie Tales Birthday

This cake was for a sweet little boy turning 4 years old. The images are in fondant.

Un-named Baby Shower

This cake was for shower for a baby whose name has not yet been revealed (much to the chagrin of friends and family).

The cake was modeled after this bedding theme.

Aqua Wedding

This is my first wedding cake ever. The colors of the wedding party were aqua blue, so I tried to match the shade pretty closely. I was pleased with how it turned out.

Fondant Cake

This is my first ever fondant cake. With practice, I'll get the hang of this!

This was a cake made for a 4 year old boy and a 5 year old girl who share a birthday close together.

A butterfly birthday cake, made for a 7 year old.

Spring Sweetness

This was another springtime "just because" cake, made for friends of the family.

Baby Shower Cake

This cake was made for two friends who were both having baby boys, due about 3 weeks apart. And because we live in NC, the Tar Heel blue footprints were particularly appropriate.

Wedding Shower Cake

This was made for a dear friend's wedding shower in collaboration with my best friend. She made the cake and the swirls, I made the flowers.

Elmo Cakes

This was a going away cake for my brother Elijah, who was moving to Korea. It says "Goodbye Elijah" in Korean.
